Nachdem die ersten beiden Ausgaben von Forms of Formalism ausverkauft sind, gibt es nun eine dritte Ausgabe zum Thema Form und Formalismus.
Forms of Formalism ist eine Plattform, die Beiträge Rund um die Begriffe Form und Formalismus sammelt. Das Projekt, unterstützt von der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, zeigt Arbeiten von internationalen Fotografen neben kritischen Textbeiträgen von Architekten und PhD Studenten.
Forms of Formalism #3, der dritte Teil der Buchserie, beinhaltet Arbeiten von Bas Princen, Mishka Henner und Maxime Guyon sowie Essays von Parasite 2.0, Moritz Ahlert und Bethan Hughes.
The notion of formalism is rather wide and can be read under different lights. Some may associate it with a merely aesthetic analysis or composition, whereas shape and structure prioritise the medium over context and content. Yet many would agree on seeing in it a basic element of many practices. Rather than define it, we decided to create a series of pocket books, each of which explores its different paradigms by gathering photography in the first half and critical essays in the second. We strive to keep this elementary cut, so that the readers can focus better on each contribution. – Introduction by Louis De Belle
