Talking book | Animating Cairo’s Waste

dina visits different thrift markets in Cairo hunting for the perfect ‘wasted’ item to bring back to life whether in the form of a stop motion or an invention. In this project dina visited the Azbakeya used books market to animate a ‘talking book’. The trash-ure this time was a pile of misprinted books, using book folding and replacement animation techniques dina can magically get a book to talk. dina’s work invites viewers to see trash, waste or preloved items in ways they’ve never seen before.
