Alle Tage
Design for People by Anna Berkenbusch
Design changes the world. The book Alle Tage showcases works of visual communication (posters, exhibitions, magazines, books, as well as work materials and concepts), primarily from the social and cultural domain. It aims to encourage utilizing everyday life as a resource and employing communication design for a better coexistence.
In addition to texts by Anna Berkenbusch and works from her studio in Berlin, as well as numerous student projects, it presents brief statements from young designers about their profession. One chapter is dedicated to the collaboration between Cuban designers and students, as well as a collection of printed materials from everyday visual communication over the last 100 years. With over 500 illustrations and extensive indexes at the end of each chapter, along with guest contributions from various authors, the book is comprehensive.
As small pauses or bookmarks, printed everyday finds are included in the book, such as text fragments, photographs of signs, or newspaper clippings from Anna Berkenbusch’s collection. The cover flaps are sealed with different stickers featuring quotes, greetings from the author, or handwritten notes–making each book unique. The hidden pages reveal what lies behind the works: designers in work situations, setting up exhibitions, and presentations.
