stolen

This poster I designed after learning about the study of the online collections of the Hermitage and the State Historical Museum of Russia by Texty.org.ua. It revealed that 110,000 artifacts had been exported from the territory of modern Ukraine to Russia in different historical periods. It makes me sad and angry that Russians keep stealing our culture without any consequences.

a—z masken

The experimental typographical project, related to the theater and its aesthetics rather than the 2020 pandemic. The project celebrates the playfulness of the creative process and the naivety of the childish creative mind, represented in masks’ expressions, body postures, and the atmosphere in the photo. In addition, 26 forest creatures were created, representing the letters of the Latin alphabet.

MYKOLA HOLODNYI BOOK & POSTER

This poster and book cover are dedicated to Mykola Kholodny, one of the prominent figures of the 1960s movement, who advocated for the rights of the Ukrainian nation to self-determination and the development of the Ukrainian language as the primary carrier of Ukrainian culture. Due to his convictions, the Soviet authorities did not allow him the freedom to write and publish. Therefore, my poster and book cover serve as an expression of respect and recognition for Mykola Kholodny’s feat.

Villages don’t drawn

USSR built huge amounts of dams and power stations on rivers to support the industry in Ukraine. In the long run, it was economically unjustified, the energy cost made through this production was too big, and keeping territories for agriculture. This project is aimed to show some data and affected villages in the water-filled installation. The construction of dams influenced the people’s fates and nature, the consequences of what we are still feeling today.

МВАК: PHOTOBOOK DESIGN

МВАК is a book with a selection of Kyiv’s modernism architecture. This project was a way to understand the city where we were forced to evacuate from our home in Kharkiv after russian shellings. We got to see the architecture and urban environment around in person while creating photo for the book. So we decided to remind what cultural value architectural modernism is. It was created by Ukrainian artists despite ideological restrictions, financial and organizational obstacles

Tears

In this poignant illustration, a pregnant woman and her boyfriend, wearied and heartbroken, bid farewell at the border after a challenging five-day journey to escape the Russian-Ukrainian war. Tears shimmer in their eyes as they cling to one another, recognizing that parting is their sole hope for safety. The border crossing and the uncertain future emphasize the grim reality endured by numerous families torn apart by the ravages of war.08/2023 UN data reports 6.2 mil. Ukrainian refugees abroad.

“What does the leaves dream of”(Picture book)

This is a touching interactive book for young readers. In autumn, the leaves leave their homes and fall. But this is not a reason to be sad – because this is the only way they can fulfill their dreams, experience fantastic adventures and learn what they are capable of. Readers can also join in making the dreams of the pages in the book come true, for example, by painting an outfit or inventing further adventures of one of the characters.

The city full of ducks

Being a refugee often means being in transition. The project takes place on the streets of The Hague during winter 2022-2023. This place is new for the people who just arrived from Ukraine, just as they are for the place. Even the most Dutch landscapes reminded them of their home. But in fact, they were simple people on the streets of the Hague. ‘This city is full of ducks’, said Elina, the girl with the long curly hair.

CHERISHED DISTANCE (3)

In April 2020, due to the global quarantine the Kyiv police carefully guarded city parks from visitors, apparently in order to walk along lonesome magnolia alleys on their own. In Kyiv the civilian volunteers “Municipal Varta” with police guards had regularly burst into empty music clubs since November. They are concerned about distance and, possibly, music. Cherished Distance is a series of video art works by Studio Radar, a graphic irony devoted to the surrealism of our new reality.
