Niezalezna Poster

This poster is dedicated to Ukraine’s struggle for independence. For this poster was recreated Illustration by Yaroslav Gordinsky, which was found on the cover of a magazine from 1930. The font used for the heading design was inspired by the works of Ukrainian graphic artist Oleh Snarsky.

ACCIDENTED ‣ SPONTANEOUS ‣ UNPLANNED

Experiments with the visual vocabulary of Ukrainian graphic artists Vasyl Krychevskyi and Oleksandr Saenko. The experimental typography reads “Моя воля обирати власну долю” (Eng: “My will to choose my own fate”). In this project, I explore the visual style representation of a blank item. All variants, which emerged accidentally, spontaneously, and unplanned, are embraced, as they align with the ethos: “My will to choose my own fate.”

Invisible city

In this series of postcards about her hometown, Iryna has revealed the usual places for Poltava residents in a new way, showing an invisible reality that no camera can capture. The illustrator hopes that this magical and playful atmosphere will someday become part of the city’s mythology, and the images will be recognizable far beyond its borders.

The inscription on the postcards translates as “You know, Poltava has its own vibe”

Decutto typeface

A neo-grotesque that packs the Marionette formula and some blackletter ideas into a low-contrast sans serif design. Its name plays on the phrases “off cut” and “cut to” which express the key feature – the contemporary legible letter shape is decorated with cut carved edges and counters, giving the typeface crisp and simplistic look, like that of an old minted coin.

Poetry zine

In this zine I combine calligraphy and photography in order to demonstrate the tenderness, which I feel, when reading Taras Melnychuk’s poetry. Taras Melnychuk was a Ukrainian dissident poet, a prisoner of Soviet camps. I like to mix different techniques, play with lights and shadows, it helps me to arrange the right mood in my work.

Futuristic poems

These experimental posters were made from the poems of Ukrainian futurists.Ukrainian futurists are part of The Executed Renaissance. It is the generation of Ukrainian poets, writers and artists of the 1920s and early 1930s. All these people were killed by the soviet regime. Futurists experimented with the sound of words, so I decided to experiment with the form of their poems and how they could look in the physical world. In my work I reference сoncrete poetry, which were popular among futurists

Воєнний комікс «Пекельний курорт. Моє життя в окупованому Бердянську»/War comics “Hell resort. My life in occupied Berdyansk”

The comic depicts the people, locations, landscapes of Berdyanska, the author’s family and friends. The girl depicted 10 situations she encountered in the temporarily occupied city. The author has chosen unique metaphors for each of the stories.

Grave concern poster

The poster is about the growing level of aggression in the world, and the organizations that are supposed to prevent this and ensure peace are expressing their grave concern and inaction. We want the world community to be persistent and fight back against evil. All fonts used for the poster are the author’s creations and were made in Ukraine.

Freedom is the genetic code of each Ukrainian, it’s in our blood.

40 days of war

At the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, I started a challenge for myself. Every day I created 1 poster that highlighted the events in Ukraine, a call to help and support the Ukrainian people in their quest for freedom and victory over the invaders. Here are some works from this 40 day challenge

Pink Glasses

Pink-colored glasses show us a cheerful world, but it’s just a mask. Threats to the planet, nature, animals, wars, and humanity are increasing. Biennale for social posters is no longer possible.

The Pink Glasses Project raises awareness through a new media channel. Fashionable clothes with a social message create an interactive experience. The pink room and ultraviolet illumination highlight problems.

Visitors become art objects, joining the global movement by wearing Pink Glasses clothes.

Chicks eat city

Little blind chicks eat the postapocalyptic city. This is regeneration for nature after all human actions now. Blind nature will erase all our cities, achievements, art, and footprints. The highest skyscraper could survive after years without humans. Things we consider crucial for our comfortable life make irreversible climate and nature balance changes.
