Objects of critical infrastructure
The phrasing “critical infrastructure object” was one of the most popular in the newsfeed during the winter of 2022-2023 under conditions of massive Russian shelling and the destruction and blackouts caused by it. For me, this is a disturbing euphemism: when you cannot reveal the secret and show exactly where the missile hit, but at the same time, you should inform people about the current state of affairs. Made of Paper, sticky notes, transferable letters, Oracal film

(Unwanted) Harvest
The series is called (Unexpected) Harvest and is made out of a collage of paintings by Tetiana Yablonska and Karpo Trohymenko (stars of social realistic paintings) and traces of real Russian missiles from documentary photos. This is a combination of ideal images of desirable reality from soviet times and real reality from nowadays.
Sentience
This image is one of the three single/album covers I created was created for the Ukrainian dark folk band The Wicker Man. The title of the first single is “Sentience”, and the cover that accompanies it marks the beginning of a woman’s quest for unity with the world beyond which continues in the next images.
I had a dream about a sky that drops nothing worse than bird poop
I created this piece in March 2022, at the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. By that time, I had already had my first experience of hearing what a missile hitting a building in my city sounds like. This piece was drawn during one of missile alerts and was an expression of my hope that one day, a sky will just be a sky again, a home to clouds and birds, with their poop being the only hazard.
I don’t recognize our faces anymore, but I love them as much as ever.
Sasha started to draw the digital illustrations after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. He mostly does it during air raids: in an underground shelter or in the corridor of his apartment behind two walls. This became a kind of art therapy in an attempt to reflect on the experience of war reflected in the faces of his compatriots.
Land to Return, Land to Care

The tree of life
In this project, the tree of life is not only a reinterpretation of one of the oldest Ukrainian symbols, but also an attempt to touch the issue of the people’s unity around their culture.
To emphasize the artistic theme, the author depicted the Kozaks not with sabers, but with a flute and bandura, because she believes that culture is the driving force that will show Ukrainians their guidelines after the victory over the bloody enemy.
Caution! Fragile
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Territorial Defence Forces were wearing yellow tape on their arms to identify each other. At the Security checkpoint where I was helping, the regular tape ran out and the only option we had left was the yellow fragile tape. So we put it on the arms of volunteers. The image of strong men with the word ‘fragile’ on their arms is etched in my memory. Before the war, I never realized how fragile and vulnerable what we’re accustomed to and what we love is.

Art on the shelf
Lavka Tradytsii, in collaboration with League Design Agency and the Museum of Contemporary Art, introduced “Art on the Shelf.” This initiative illuminates Ukrainian culture, presenting artworks on shelves during a time when many art pieces are inaccessible.
The concept integrates renowned Ukrainian paintings into everyday product packaging—such as tea and honey. Key visual elements: vivid landscapes by artists like Kuindzhi and Novakivskyi. This narrates the stories of these celebrated artists.

On the barricades
My homeland, my beloved Ukraine is on fire, flooded with blood, wounded from
the bombs of the russian aggressor’s artillery and airstrikes. But we are still alive
and will continue to fight for our freedom. We are not afraid, because the truth is
on our side. We know that the Holy Mother of God is with us. She stands with us
in the midst of the houses destroyed by bombs, on the barricades, and on the
battlefield.
Seeds
“They buried us, but they didn’t know we were seeds.” Dinos Christianopoulos
it is still here
As soon as you feel the joy of life, the warm weather, the beauty around you, the war immediately reminds you of itself. With an anti-tank hedgehog in the flowerbed, the sound of an air alarm, notifications in your phone about another grief.
