We are excited to announce an open call for submissions for the 45th issue of Slanted Magazine, created in collaboration with Artist Archive Publications (AAP) in Munich, led by publisher, artist, and art educator Hubert Kretschmer. For this special edition, we are seeking contemporary and historical zines, booklets, publications, and printed matter that explore themes such as gender, feminism, sex, eroticism, love, pornography, intimacy, nudity, LGBTQ+, femininity, body image, emancipation, relationships, polyamory, sexuality, punk, cyberfeminism, sexual freedom, and beauty.
Since the early 1980s, AAP has collected, archived, and preserved a diverse range of artist publications, including magazines, flyers, artist books, zines, multiples, and posters. Today, the archive is home to over 89,988 registered items, making it one of the largest private collections of artist books and zines worldwide. Archives are more than just collections—they are windows to the past, keys to understanding the present, and vital resources for future generations.
We invite you to become part of this extraordinary archive and submit your work to be considered for inclusion in Slanted Magazine #45. Selected submissions will not only be featured in this exciting issue but also added to the AAP archive, contributing to its ongoing legacy. Essays or articles are also very welcome, please submit your idea via email!
