Colroy
Aus den Pressetext: Colroy is a superbly and subtly crafted contemporary Clarendon-like typeface. Some of its many advantages are perfect suitability for body text usage, marvellous italics and covers up to 86 languages. Furthermore it supports small caps and various opentype features. Compared to existing Clarendon-like typefaces it is slightly more geometricized but still has the vividness which you have come to appreciate in traditional Clarendon typefaces.
After Hermann Eidenbenz redrew the original Clarendon for the Haas’sche Schriftgiesserei in Münchenstein in the early 1950s, it took more den 60 years until Marc Droz (dreh gmbh) created with the Colroy a modern and thoroughly crafted and clarendon-like slab serif that stands in the Swiss tradition of strong and somehow understated typefaces.
The creation of Colroy started in 2009 during the CAS Typedesign at the Zurich University of the Arts and was completed as a font family with six cuts by 2014.
Colroy is available in Regular, Regular Italic, Medium, Medium Italic, Bold, Bold Italic. It supports the Unicode tables Latin Basic, Latin Supplement-1, Latin Extended A and includes the full set of small caps, discretional ligatures, additional typographic alternates, number styles and a lot of arrows and icons.
