Emigre: three new books

Emigre Fonts Type Specimens Volume I
Over the years Emigre has published numerous type specimen
booklets to announce and exhibit its new typeface releases.
From the beginning, we have set aside 100 copies of each, with
the idea to eventually publish bound sets.
Most of these specimen booklets have long been unavailable,
so we are happy to announce that we have now compiled 100 sets
each containing 12 of the original Emigre type specimen booklets.
Each set is case bound into a volume and cloth covered, with
letter press printed endpapers and intro pages.
Includes specimen booklets for Tribute, Not Caslon, Hypnopaedia,
Vista, Keedy Sans, Apollo, Fairplex, Cholla, Dalliance, Puzzler,
Poppi and Platelet.

New Orleans as it Was
Sketchbook Drawings by Mark Andresen
1988 - Hurricane Katrina
Late on August 28, 2005, hours before Hurricane Katrina struck
land, Mark Andresen, his wife Paula, and their two cats loaded
up their car and fled from New Orleans.
They would not return anytime soon. They left behind many of their
possessions, but Paula had insisted they bring Mark’s sketchbooks.
Andresen had moved to New Orleans in 1988 and quickly established
himself as a commercial illustrator winning numerous local and
national awards. Between jobs, in order to flex his creative
muscles, he habitually sketched life in New Orleans as he
encountered it. Like a visual diary, these sketchbooks became
a record of Mark’s impressions of New Orleans covering the 18
years he lived there.
This book is a selection of drawings taken from those rescued
sketchbooks.
Designed and edited by Rudy VanderLans.
Published by Gingko Press.
112 pages, 8 x 8 inches, over 100 ilustrations, softcover
with flaps, perfect bound.
$19.95
(Emigre will donate $10 for every copy we sell of "New orleans as
it Was" to The Tipitina's Foundation which is dedicated to
helping artists recover from Hurricane Katrina and preserving
the cultural traditions of New Orleans).
