GT Cinetype
Grilli Type hat eine neue Schrift veröffentlicht, die GT Cinetype. Sie ist eine Hommage an die Zeit als Filmrollen noch manuell mit einem Laserstrahl untertitelt wurden. Der Laserstrahl brannte dabei die Farbschicht aus dem Filmmaterial. Die GT Cinetype ist eine Digitalisierung dieses Prozesses, da der Laser sich nur in geraden Linien bewegen konnte hat auch sie keine Kurven.
Pressetext: Grilli Types interpretation of that laser subtitling leads to a typeface with mechanic precision, but also a human element, that shows its personality in the details. Used in small sizes GT Cinetype seems like a normal, rounded typeface. The eye will only perceive its straight segments at larger sizes. The digitalization of this typeface is their way of capturing the spirit of this area of typesetting.
