Es ist immer wieder schön, das Jahrbuch des TDC in den Händen zu halten – typografische Raffinesse, Experimentierfreudigkeit und außerordentliches Typedesign aus der ganzen Welt auf einen Blick. Alt bekannte Gestalter treffen auf Newcomer und jedem bietet der TDC sein Plätzchen.

Die gelungene Gestaltung des Büros Philippe Apeloig drückt sich dabei nicht in den Vordergrund und lässt den Arbeiten ihre Bühne – informativ und trotzdem mit dem gewissen Etwas.

Mein Fazit: Unbedingt anschauen und sich an den schönen Arbeiten erfreuen!

The color Annual contains full-color illustrations, including the winning selections from entries into the TDC54 Typography Competition, and the winning selections from entries into the TDC2 2008 Type Design Competition.

Typography 29 also includes a reprinting of the original catalog pages from the fifth TDC Competition from 1959. Reprinted here in the context of the Annual are many of the classic works of modernist typography from that time.
