SW001

SW001 is a collaborative online art project that aims to showcase the diversity and richness of various cultures through digital art. It is released by Signal Weltfunk.

The compilation consists of 31 pieces of music by artists scattered around the world, to show as many different perspectives on electronic music as possible in this hyperglobalized world. In this way, the questions are addressed and answered as to where the boundaries between these positions lie, whether they exist at all and what meaning they have, where they intertwine with one another. A case study on electronic music that mainly takes place in the internet and the communication forms that come with it, getting to know new people, bridging connections between organizations.

Each track is accompanied by its own music video, which add up to a 2 hour long visualizer to watch along listening. It features collected field recordings and public domain footage, which is glitched, layered, and looped. The videos are trying to capture the essence of it in visual form, together they form a movie like experience to watch along listening.

Signal Weltfunk is a label and collective for electronic and contemporary music from Nuremberg, Germany, focused on sharing knowledge and building a platform for an exchange of different art forms, displayed around music releases and events.
